Titans to reportedly sign former Buccaneers WR Adam Humphries

The Tennessee Titans are doing everything possible to help struggling quarterback Marcus Mariota overcome the issues we’ve seen over the past two seasons.

According to NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero, that will include Tennessee signing former Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Adam Humphries.

An undrafted free agent out of Clemson back in 2015, Humphries has morphed into one of the best slot receivers in the game.

Despite erratic quarterback play in Tampa last season, the 5-foot-11 receiver caught 76 passes for 816 yards and five touchdowns. He also hauled in 72 percent of the passes thrown in his direction.

Outside of Corey Davis, the Titans didn’t have a reliable receiver for Mariota to toss the rock to last season. The 25-year-old Humphries is going to help big time, especially on third downs.

The deal is said to be worth $36 million over four seasons — making Humphries one of the highest-paid slot receivers in the game.
