Report: Steelers could complete Antonio Brown trade this wek

The Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly closing in on the Antonio Brown trade everyone’s been expecting for the better part of a month.

Discussing the situation on the “Dan Patrick Show” Monday morning, Peter King of Pro Football Talk said, “It sounds like Pittsburgh is going to be able to make a deal as early as this week. They’re confident they can get more than what a lot of people think they can get,” per Andrew Perloff.

A bit later on, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media confirmed that Pittsburgh is closing in on a deal that should take place before March 17.

Rapoport mentions the Oakland Raiders, Denver Broncos and Arizona Cardinals as teams “who have appeared the most intrigued.” Other teams that have been linked to Brown are the Tennessee Titans and Washington Redskins.

One team that was heavily linked to Brown was the San Francisco 49ers. But both Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch slammed the door on that perceived interest last week during the combine.

It’s going to be fascinating to see what Pittsburgh does end up getting in return for one of the best receivers in the game today. He’s seemingly torched his own stock with a barrage of social media posts and an interview with Jeff Darlington in which he contradicted himself repeatedly and came across poorly.
