Report: Ravens release six-time Pro Bowl S Eric Weddle

Ravens safety Eric Weddle intercepts a pass

In what has to be described as a shocking bit of news, the Baltimore Ravens have reportedly released six-time Pro Bowl safety Eric Weddle on Tuesday.

The move comes with the 34-year-old Weddle still playing at a high level. Since signing on with the Ravens back in 2016, Weddle has earned three Pro Bowl appearances in as many seasons.

This past year saw the former San Diego Chargers’ second-round pick record 68 tackles, three passes defended and a sack.

Weddle was set to count $9.25 million against the Ravens’ cap in 2019. They save $7.5 million by releasing the six-time Pro Bowler. This move comes after Baltimore had previously released fellow veteran Michael Crabtree.

Things are changing for John Harbaugh and Co. That’s for sure.
