Donovan Smith reportedly lands three-year, $41.25 million deal with Bucs

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have locked up one of their own free agents, securing left tackle Donovan Smith on a three-year deal, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reported Tuesday.

The deal is worth up to $41.25 million, per Garafolo, with $27 million fully guaranteed.

Since being selected in the second round out of Penn State back in 2015, the 6-foot-6, 340-pounder has started 64 consecutive games for Tampa Bay.

This move should be huge for the Buccaneers offense long term. Smith isn’t an elite left tackle at this point in his career, but he’s an ascending player. Still just 25 years of age, with four seasons under his belt, he gives the offensive line a solid anchor on the left side.
