Broncos reportedly set to sign former Texans CB Kareem Jackson

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

With former first-round pick Bradley Roby on his way out of town, general manager John Elway and Co. have apparently found a replacement.

According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, the Broncos intend to sign former Houston Texans first-round pick Kareem Jackson to a three-year, $33 million contract with $23 million guaranteed.

A full-time starer for Houston over the past nine seasons, the 30-year-old Jackson was among the most consistent forces on the team’s defense during that span.

He ends his career with the Texans having recorded a combined 88 passes defended and 16 interceptions. Last season alone, Jackson started all 16 games en route to recording 17 passes defended and two interceptions.

This is certainly a solid under-the-radar move for a Broncos team that needed reinforcements in the secondary.
