Raiders Las Vegas NFL

There’s been a lot of rumors linking the Oakland Raiders to San Francisco for the 2019 NFL season.

Set to move to Las Vegas in 2020, the Raiders are currently engaged in a legal mess with the city of Oakland. Once city officials filed suit against the Raiders, reports surfaced that the organization would not be playing at Oakland Coliseum in 2019.

At that point, everything from Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara — home of the San Francisco 49ers — to the San Francisco Giants’ baseball venue were left on the table.

According to this report from longtime Bay Area insider and the voice the 49ers, Greg Papa, the Raiders will not be setting up shop in San Francisco next season.

“From what I’m hearing, the Raiders will not be playing at Oracle Park. That will not be approved,” Papa said, via 95.7 The Game.

Both the NFL and the 49ers would have to approve of the Raiders playing in San Francisco. Despite opening up a new venue in Santa Clara, the 49ers still hold territorial rights over their old city.

It will certainly be interesting to see what comes of this. The 49ers and Raiders could very well share Levi’s Stadium in 2019. There’s also a possibility that the Raiders set up temporary digs in either San Diego or San Antonio.

Heck, even Sam Boyd Stadium on the outskirts of Las Vegas could be a viable option. For now, no one really knows what’s going to happen here.
