Legal analyst: Robert Kraft asking for trial ‘risky,’ could lead to jail time

Robert Kraft

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft pleaded not guilty to two counts of misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution in court. Kraft is also seeking a non-jury trial, but one prominent legal analyst sees this as a “risky move.”

Amy Dash, a legal expert for CBS Sports, shared her thoughts on the decision by Kraft and his attorneys.

Kraft has denied any wrongdoing, and he’s clearly sticking with that story. Unfortunately for him, it’s been widely reported that there is video showing Kraft not only paying for the sex acts he’s being charged with, but also the acts themselves.

Said video might end up becoming public, despite Kraft’s lawyer requesting that it be sealed by the court.

The NFL could come down hard on Kraft, regardless of what comes out in court, just to make a point. And if the 77-year-old owner does end up facing jail time over these allegations, one wonders if that response will be even stronger.
