Kyrie Irving attacks media over questions about Kevin Durant conversation

It’s not secret that impending free agents Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant have both been linked to the New York Knicks.

Considered good friends, the idea would be for the two to build a super team in the nation’s largest media market.

Teammates during last weekend’s All-Star Game, Irving and Durant were seen in the tunnel in Charlotte discussing something. The attention of the media quickly turned to whether Irving told Durant that the Knicks have a spot for two max-contract players.

In being asked about the conversation at hand, Irving was none too happy to discuss the details. In fact, he put the smack down on the media.

“I don’t have a private life when I’m out there in the NBA. Somebody wants to take a video and, I mean, it is what it is,” Irving said. “Pour water on it? I’m a human being talking to another best friend of mine. Like, it’s just crazy. This is the stuff that just doesn’t make the league fun. Like, it doesn’t make the league fun.”

Irving has a legit point here. The two could’ve been talking about anything. Why did the discussion turn to them plotting some sort of a union in New York before free agency even starts?

As it relates to both Durant and Irving, their current teams are among the top title contenders. The focus is going to be on that prior to what promises to be an event-filled summer for the two.
