Jalen Rose: Zion Williamson not good enough to be an NBA MVP

Zion Williamson is currently having what appears to be the time of his life dominating the collegiate ranks as a freshman phenom for the Duke Blue Devils.

Every single game he plays, Williamson brings fans to their feet with incredible plays on both ends of the court — despite what’s been some pretty intense efforts from opposing teams.

Simply put, Williamson has taken the basketball community by storm.

But Jalen Rose thinks it’s time to pump the brakes on things a bit. Wednesday morning on ESPN’s “Get Up” he said Williamson isn’t good enough to be an NBA MVP.

It seems a bit early to be making this kind of declaration. Williamson is just 19 years old, after all, and isn’t even finished with his first (and only) season at Duke.

But most agree he’s the best NBA prospect since LeBron James. And based on the way he’s handled the spotlight and incredible pressure he’s faced since even before he signed with the Blue Devils, nobody should doubt his ability to thrive in the NBA.

Even if he does have a couple of pretty major fails on record.
