J.T. Realmuto ‘would love’ to have Bryce Harper join him in Philly

New Philadelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto has faced Bryce Harper on many occasions over the past few years. Now he’s hoping they can be teammates.

Just days after Realmuto was traded from Miami to Philly, he’s subtly pitching his new team to a longtime rival.

“Anybody would love to have a guy like that on your team,” Realmuto said, per NBC Sports Philadelphia. “I haven’t quite been involved in those discussions because I haven’t been here very long, but I would definitely love to have a player like that on this team.”

The latest rumors have a couple of West Coast teams firmly entrenched as potential landing spots for Harper. The San Diego Padres are pushing hard to land the highly marketable star, and so also are the San Francisco Giants — recently pegged as the odds-on favorites to land Harper.

However, Philly has long been considered a favorite to sign Harper, so Realmuto might still get his wish.
