Todd Gurley on recent struggles: ‘I’m here at the Super Bowl, that’s all that matters’

Todd Gurley knows that individually, he wasn’t as strong at the end of the season as he was at the start. But he’s happy with how things have ended up.

Speaking to Deion Sanders of the NFL Network, Gurley bluntly said “I guess things didn’t finish out as strong as they started.” He also added “But I’m here at the Super Bowl. So that’s all that matters.”

Indeed.

Gurley did struggle at the end of the year. He was sidelined with an injury for the final two regular season games and wasn’t as much of a factor in the games leading up to that as we saw in the first half of the season. He also only touched the ball five times in the NFC Championship Game win over the New Orleans Saints.

So, he may not be as sharp. That said, one would be hard pressed to find any NFC running back that wouldn’t trade places with him right now.
