Chiefs star Eric Berry not expected to play this weekend

Eric Berry

Kansas City Chiefs Pro Bowl safety Eric Berry has played in a grand total of two games after suffering a ruptured Achilles back in September of 2017.

The nine-year veteran did return to play in Week 15 and 16 before sitting out the regular season finale with what was described as a heel injury pertaining to the above-mentioned Achilles ailment.

Now according to this report from NFL Media’s Mike Garafolo, the Chiefs are not expecting Berry to play this coming weekend in the AFC Divisional Playoffs against the Indianapolis Colts.

While Kansas City has not had Berry on the field much over the past two seasons, this could still be a major blow against Andrew Luck and Indy’s elite passing attack.

The Chiefs’ defense ranked 31st in the NFL during the regular season and yielded 30 passing touchdowns. This is a major area of weakness heading into the weekend.
