WATCH: Drew Brees throws ghastly pick-two

To say that Monday night’s game between the Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints was a bit on the sloppy side would be an understatement.

In a game that the Panthers need in order to remain in the NFC Playoff race, a whole bunch of crazy went down.

Following a Carolina fumble deep inside the Saints’ territory, Drew Brees methodically drove his team down field for what seemed to be a game-clinching touchdown. The drive culminated in a 16-yard score from running back Alvin Kamara to give New Orleans a 12-7 advantage

Looking at the score and the situation, the Saints decided to go for two. That’s when everything went haywire for New Orleans. This brutal pass attempt from Brees to Michael Thomas was intercepted by rookie Donte Jackson, who returned it the distance of the field for two points.

Yeah, we don’t see this all too often around the NFL world.

It was also a pretty dramatic shift in the landscape of the game. If the Saints had converted on the two-point try, they would’ve been up a full touchdown. Instead, this turned into a mere field goal game.
