Report: DeSean Jackson wants out of Tampa Bay

Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver DeSean Jackson

DeSean Jackson’s two-year tenure as a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers could soon be coming to an end.

The up-and-down relationship between Jackson and his team has taken a significant turn for the worse. It now reportedly includes Jackson telling the brass that he’d like to move on from the organization this coming offseason.

This really shouldn’t be considered too much of a surprise. Jackson has clashed with head coach Dirk Koetter over the offense.

Despite this, the three-time Pro Bowl heads into Week 17 leading the NFL with an average of 18.9 yards per reception this season. He has one year remaining on his contract and is set to count $10 million against the cap in 2019.

Tampa Bay can get out from Jackson’s contract without a dead cap hit. Look for that to happen relatively early in the offseason.
