Report: Chiefs signing WR Kelvin Benjamin

The first-place Kansas City Chiefs are adding another weapon for MVP candidate Patrick Mahomes as the regular season draws to a conclusion.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Kansas City is signing former Carolina Panthers and Buffalo Bills wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin.

Benjamin, 27, took a visit with the Chiefs after he was released by the Buffalo Bills earlier in the week. Once the former first-round pick cleared waivers, he was free to sign with a team of his choice.

A downright bust in Buffalo after being acquired from Carolina back in October of 2017, the Florida State product caught 23-of-62 targets for 354 yards with the Bills prior to being released.

It remains to be seen just how much of an impact Benjamin will have. Though, he did combine for nearly 2,000 total yards and 16 touchdowns in his first two fully healthy NFL seasons.
