Jaguars Jalen Ramsey praises DeAndre Hopkins ahead of Week 17 game

As Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey prepares for the last game of his 2018 season, he is making sure to pay his respects to the wide receiver he’ll be facing on Sunday.

In advance of his matchup against Houston Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, Ramsey made it known how much respect he has for Hopkins and where he ranks among his peers.

“He’s No. 1,” Ramsey said, via The Florida-Times Union. “Him and Odell. They are probably 1A and 1B.”

The 24-year-old cornerback is excited to square off against Hopkins for the second time this season. While Hopkins was held to 50 receiving yards on three catches in their last matchup, Ramsey said Hopkins made the play that counted the most.

“He had like three receptions for 50 yards, one long catch, 38 yards or something like that,” Ramsey said, via The Florida-Times Union. “But he had a touchdown and that was a big game-changer for their team and ours.”

Both teams have gone in very different directions since they last faced off during the 2018 season. While Hopkins will be going out there to help his team compete for playoff seeding, Ramsey will just be hoping to win this individual matchup against a wide receiver he clearly has a lot of respect for.
