Eagles announce Nick Foles will start Sunday against the Bears

Eagles quarterback Nick Foles

The Philadelphia Eagles received a bit of a scare late in Sunday’s win over the Washington Redskins. En route to clinching a playoff spot, reigning Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles exited the game in the fourth quarter with what was described as a chest injury.

Video shows Foles clutching for his chest after being driven into the ground. He didn’t return to action. With Carson Wentz sidelined, third-stringer Nate Sudfeld was forced into the game.

The good news here is that Foles will be good to go for the Eagles’ wild card matchup against the Bears in Chicago this coming Sunday.

This is a clear indication that the injury was not as severe as it first seemed. Having posted a 4-1 record as the Eagles’ starter this season, Foles continues to defy expectations.

He took over for an injured Wentz back in Week 15 with Philadelphia barely hanging on to playoff relevance. Foles then led the team to three consecutive wins and the No. 6 seed in the NFC.
