Cardinals QB Josh Rosen, environmental activist

NFL players are taking part in “My Cause, My Cleats,” which sees them wear whatever cleats they want to support causes important to them. For quarterback Josh Rosen, that’s climate change.

The Arizona Cardinals quarterback spoke on the matter and his desire to help fix the issue.

“Something crazy like 75 to 80 percent of the world’s population lives in coastal areas, so there’s going to be massive, massive mass migrations,” Rosen said, per Kyle Odegard, AZCardinals.com. “You think the refugee crisis is bad now? It’s only going to get worse. Famines are going to get worse. Island countries off the coast of Africa, they are literally going to disappear.”

For Rosen, the issue isn’t so much protecting the earth. It’s keeping the earth habitable for humans. He opined that “The earth will be fine. It’s just whether the earth will be fine and have humans on it.”

Rosen’s cleats will be in support of Parley for the Oceans.

He wore them in Week 13 against the Green Bay Packers and will do so again in Week 14 when the Cardinals take on the Detroit Lions.
