Titans defensive coordinator taken to hospital during game

The Tennessee Titans found out first hand during Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts that football is just a game. There’s a lot more serious things in life. The health of those on the team and organization for one.

In the first half of the team’s game on Sunday, defensive coordinator Dean Pees suffered a medical emergency and was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation.

There’s no further information regarding Pees’ status. But this has to be considered a serious situation for the veteran coach and his team.

Pees, 69, has been in the NFL ranks as an assistant since 2004. He spent six seasons with the New England Patriots prior to acting as the Baltimore Ravens’ defensive coordinator from 2012-17. He’s filled that same role in Tennessee since the start of this season.

Prior to that, Pees coached college football with the likes of Notre Dame and Michigan State, among others.

Our thoughts and best wishes go out to Pees and the entire Titans’ organization. Let’s hope this situation isn’t as serious as it seems.
