Report: Lamar Jackson likely to start for Ravens in Week 11

The Baltimore Ravens appear to be ready for the first start of Lamar Jackson’s NFL career in NFL Week 11 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Jamison Hensley of ESPN reported Friday that, “While the Ravens probably won’t name a starting QB today, the most likely scenario for Sunday is starting rookie first-round pick Lamar Jackson and mixing in Robert Griffin III for some series and special packages.”

The rookie missed practice Thursday with an illness, which sparked talk that perhaps the Ravens would turn to Robert Griffin III with Joe Flacco unavailable due to his hip injury.

However, starting Jackson does make a ton of sense. He’s looked good in limited action this year, and the franchise better get used to seeing him under center going forward. And if he struggles, then RG3 is there to pick up the slack.

Jackson was the last pick of the first round this past April and has the tools to become a franchise passer, and Flacco’s eventual successor.
