LOOK: Warriors wearing amazing 1980s throwbacks Wednesday night

In the midst of their final season in Oakland, the Golden State Warriors are going back to their past for Wednesday’s game against the Washington Wizards at Oracle Arena.

The team announced that it will be wearing these awesome 1980s-era throwbacks, an homage to the last time these Warriors were relevant on the larger NBA stage.

The yellow base with a basketball and the state of California on it is a clean look for the Warriors. The two-time defending champs are attempting to look back to their past as they prepare for a move to San Francisco next season. This is the latest example of that.

We’re also reminded of this now-famous call by the great Greg Papa and other great moments in Warriors history.

The younger generation won’t remember this history. For most of them, Golden State’s road to relevance started with Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant.

Despite some major struggles in the 1990s and 2000s, there is some history with the Warriors in Oakland. Now that they’re playing their final season in the city, it’s cool to see the organization pay homage to its past.
