Joel Embiid could miss Saturday’s game after rolling ankle in practice

The Philadelphia 76ers might be without Joel Embiid on Saturday when they take on the Charlotte Hornets. The big man rolled his ankle in practice Friday and has been listed as questionable for the team’s next game.

Based on comments made by head coach Brett Brown, it sounds like more tests are needed to discover the severity of Embiid’s injury.

“He just came down on Amir’s foot and had a slight roll of the ankle. We don’t know much more than that,” said Sixers coach Brett Brown. “They told me that he will be listed as questionable tomorrow. … We’re listing it as questionable and we’re going to learn a lot more later this afternoon.”

Embiid has been spectacular — and entertaining, as usual — so far this season for the Sixers. Playing more than he ever has before (averaging over 35 minutes per game), he’s averaging 29.6 points, 12.4 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 2.4 blocks per game.
