Jalen Ramsey breaks some pretty big news on Twitter

With running back Leonard Fournette’s hamstring injury already set to cost him the Jacksonville Jaguars’ next game this coming Sunday, it looks like the team is hitting the veteran free agent market for a reinforcement.

In what ended up being a harbinger of things to come, Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey seemed to suggest that the team is close to signing former Pro Bowl running back Jamaal Charles.

Ramsey mentioned Charles via his official Twitter account, asking the following question.

Immediately after Ramsey’s tweet, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Jags have in fact signed Charles.

Not only is Ramsey an All-Pro corner, he’s now an NFL insider. Well done, Jalen.

This signing seems to make some sense. While T.J. Yeldon has performed well in Fournette’s stead thus far this season, there’s a lack of depth in the Jaguars’ backfield. Current No. 2 back Corey Grant has posted just 40 yards on 13 attempts through the first five weeks of the season.

With Fournette’s injury continuing to linger, reinforcements are certainly needed on this front.

Charles, 31, last suited up for the Denver Broncos in 2017. He averaged a robust 4.3 yards on 69 attempts. Years removed from being an All-Pro performer, he might still be able to make an impact in a part-time role.
