After drawing criticism for his behavior and actions in Week 7 against the Philadelphia Eagles, Carolina Panthers safety Eric Reid has now been fined for his unnecessary roughness against Zach Ertz.

After a big hit on quarterback Carson Wentz by Reid, Ertz ran over to try and retaliate against him for the hit. Instead, Reid dipped his shoulder and got under Ertz then flipped him to the turf.

It’s a significant fine for Reid, especially since he had to wait into the season to sign an NFL contract. Meanwhile, Ertz avoided a fine from the league likely because his attempt at retaliation backfired.
