Browns reportedly trade RB Carlos Hyde to the Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars are not waiting any longer to see how the entire Leonard Fournette injury situation plays out. Having already been ruled out for the team’s Week 7 outing against Houston, there’s no telling when Fournette will return from the hamstring injury he’s suffering through.

It now looks like the Jaguars have added a pretty big reinforcement in the form of Cleveland Browns running back Carlos Hyde.

It’s a pretty darn shocking trade on the surface. Hyde, 27, was just signed to a three-year, $15.25 million deal by Cleveland back in March.

Through the first six games of the season, he’s tallied 411 total yards and five touchdowns. Hyde also ranks third among NFL running backs with 114 rush attempts thus far this season. He’ll obviously be Jacksonville’s starter until Fournette returns from injury.

Cleveland acquires a fifth-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft for Hyde. It will now likely go with rookie Nick Chubb as the team’s primary ball carrier moving forward.
