Given all the talent on Michigan’s defense, NFL scouts might notice linebacker Noah Furbush and keep an eye on him. He’s looking elsewhere, though.
According to Andrew Kahn of MLive, the senior defender said he plans to become a military pilot after his football career is over.
“I certainly have a passion for football, but my dream and my goal has always been to be a pilot in the military.”
Furbush, a fifth-year senior, graduated during the spring with a degree in aerospace engineering. He’s currently enrolled in a one-year Masters program of space engineering, which focuses on rockets and spacecrafts.
So, yes, he is a rocket scientist.
Additionally, Furbush earned his pilot’s license in 2016 and has since applied to join the United States Marine Corps.
In the meantime, he’s a regular contributor on Michigan’s stingy defense. He’s recorded 32 tackles and two interceptions since the beginning of the 2017 season.
But once the season is over, the sky is the goal ― not the limit ― for Furbush.
