As his Buffalo Bills prepare to kick off the 2018 NFL regular season star running back LeSean McCoy has received some really good off-field news.

Mired in drama that has surrounded his ex-girlfriend being assaulted during a home invasion this past summer, the six-time Pro Bowler is not expected to be charged stemming from the incident.

NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport also noted that McCoy is not expected to be suspended by the NFL.

Seen as a person of interest in the robbery that caused some major physical damage to his ex-girlfriend, there was a decent chance that McCoy would find himself charged by authorities.

Obviously, that’s no longer the case.

Not only is this good news for McCoy, the Bills themselves can breathe a sigh of relief. They are expected to rely big time on the star running back with Nathan Peterman getting the call to start under center Week 1. Rookie Josh Allen could also be in the mix moving forward should Peterman struggle.

McCoy, 30, put up 1,586 total yards and eight touchdowns for the Bills last season. He’s topped the 1,500 total yard plateau each of the past two seasons.
