Bills’ Sean McDermott early favorite to be first head coach fired

If you’ve been forced to watch the Buffalo Bills attempt to play football thus far this season, we apologize for any inconvenience. For Bills fans in Western New York, feel free to go ahead and continue that mafia thing.

It’s been bad. Really, really bad.

Through the first two games of the season, Sean McDermott’s squad has been outscored by a combined 55 points. That includes a 47-3 season-opening loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

Now, according to at least one oddsmaker, McDermott is the early favorite to be the first head coach fired this season. He’s followed in line by Hue Jackson of the Cleveland Browns as well as Houston Texans’ Bill O’Brien and Arizona Cardinals head man Steve Wilks.

There’s so much to look at here. McDermott is favored ahead of a head coach in Hue Jackson that boasts a 1-32-1 record in his tenure with the Browns. Meanwhile, Wilks appears on the list after coaching just two games in the desert.

Not only have the Bills been disastrous through the first two games of the season, McDermott’s coaching style has come under fire in a big way.

How the whole Tyrod Taylor situation played out prior to the Pro Bowler being traded to Cleveland this past spring is a major issue.

Instead of having Taylor in the mix, Buffalo is relying on rookie Josh Allen to hold down the fort. He’s nowhere near ready to be a starting quarterback in the NFL.

Allen’s presence under center comes after second-year quarterback Nathan Peterman completed 43 percent of his passes with two touchdowns and seven interceptions in his first three career starts.

That’s just a whole bunch of gross right there. And in reality, it could lead to McDermott getting canned.
