Aaron Judge returning to Yankee lineup for first time in nearly two months

Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge

The New York Yankees’ lineup on Tuesday features a familiar name that hasn’t been around for a while. For the first time since July 26, Aaron Judge is starting.

Judge was placed on the DL after being hit by a pitch in a July 26 game against the Kansas City Royals. It’s been a long recovery process for the reigning American League Rookie of the Year.

Judge played briefly on Friday, but only in the field.

The stakes are relatively low for the Yankees for the rest of the year. The Boston Red Sox have all but clinched the American League East and New York has virtually locked up a wild card spot. The only thing left to be determined is whether that game will be in New York or Oakland.

That will allow Judge time to get back into the swing of things in relatively stress-free games.

Prior to getting hurt, Judge was hitting .285/.398/.548 with 26 home runs.
