White Sox’ relief pitcher Xavier Cedeño traded to Brewers

In an effort to further strengthen their bullpen, the Milwaukee Brewers struck a deal with the Chicago White Sox to acquire relief pitcher Xavier Cedeño.

Cedeño has pitched extremely well for the White Sox this season. The southpaw posted a 2.84 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and struck out 28 batters across 25.1 innings this season in Chicago. He will likely serve in a situational relief role for the Brewers going forward.

In exchange for Cedeno, the White Sox acquired outfielder Bryan Connell and right-handed pitcher Johan Dominguez from Milwaukee.

Connell is a 19-year-old outfield prospect who has played at Rookie-level ball for the past three seasons. In 2018, he posted a .239/.355/.432 slash line with seven home runs and 23 walks in 48 games.

Dominguez is a 22-year-old pitcher who has also pitched at the Rookie-ball level for the past three seasons. Across 33 innings, he registered a 0.82 ERA with 36 strikeouts.
