WATCH: Josh Allen evades pressure, throws TD strike

In his NFL debut against the Carolina Panthers, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen showed he was not close to being ready to start.

On Thursday against the Cleveland Browns, the rookie showed flashes of a quarterback who could work his way into a starting job.

After Allen drove Buffalo’s offense down the field, he came through in a big moment on third down.

The 22-year-old quickly eluded pressure coming directly at his face, then stepped into the pocket, made a cutback and fired a bullet to wide receiver Rod Streater for the touchdown.

It’s a step in the right direction for the No. 7 overall pick as he looks to prove he should start right away. After AJ McCarron’s ineffective performance tonight, it may not be long before Allen gets his wish.
