Saquon Barkley comes up ‘a bit lame’ after big play in practice

New York Giants rookie running back Saquon Barkley, the No. 2 overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft, had to exit practice early on Monday after a big play left him needing a wrap around his left leg.

As described by Jordan Raanan of ESPN, Barkley “Looked as if he came up a bit lame at the end.”

After practice, Barkley was seen to be walking “gingerly” on this left leg.

Hopefully this is nothing more than a minor muscle tweak. Barkley is one of the most exciting, most talented running backs we’ve seen enter the NFL in years, and he proved that on the very first carry he ever had in an NFL game last Thursday (watch here).
