Report: Antonio Callaway claims marijuana was left in car by others

Antonio Callaway finds himself in hot water after news broke Tuesday that he had been cited for marijuana possession early Sunday morning.

The amount of marijuana found inside his vehicle — under the driver’s side seat — was not significant. As such, Callaway is facing a misdemeanor, along with a citation for driving with a suspended license.

On Tuesday afternoon, head coach Hue Jackson revealed Callaway had not informed the Browns of the citation, and that they were just now hearing about it for the first time.

Now comes a bit of a twist.

Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com shared information she received from a source, indicating that Callaway is essentially blaming someone else for leaving the marijuana in the vehicle.

She wrote, “Antonio Callaway just had his car shipped here from Florida and hadn’t used it in awhile. Others had. Didn’t realize there was marijuana in it, source says.”

We’ll go ahead and let things play out before offering an opinion.

What we do know for certain is that Callaway has a history of marijuana-related offenses, including testing positive during the 2018 NFL Scouting Combine, just this past February.
