Redskins reportedly hosting Adrian Peterson, Jamaal Charles for visits

Arizona Cardinals running back Adrian Peterson in NFL Week 6

The Washington Redskins seemingly had a lot of depth at running back heading into the preseason. That was quickly replaced with the reality of Derrius Guice going down with a season-ending torn ACL and second-year back Samaje Perine suffering a sprained ankle.

Accordingly, the Redskins are now set to host two former Pro Bowl running backs for visits. That includes future Hall of Famer Adrian Peterson, who is still without a team after splitting time between the Arizona Cardinals and New Orleans Saints last season.

Peterson, 33, recorded 529 yards and averaged just 3.4 yards per attempt prior to going down to a season-ending neck injury. He’s three years removed from leading the NFL in rush attempts, rushing yards and rushing touchdowns.

Of note, former Kansas City Chiefs star Jamaal Charles is also slated to meet with the Redskins. He last saw action with Denver in 2017, putting up 296 yards in 14 games.
