More than two months after he last took the mound for the Cleveland Indians, All-Star reliever Andrew Miller has now been activated off the disabled list.
The 33-year-old southpaw, who was initially placed on the 10-day disabled list in late May with a knee injury, is now set to rejoin the back-end of an excellent bullpen.

Before his stint on the disabled list, Miller struggled for Cleveland. In 14.1 innings, he recorded a 4.40 ERA and 1.60 WHIP as walks and poor command seemed to constantly plague him.
Cleveland is hoping Miller’s knee is fully healthy and he can return to form as one of the most dominant pitchers out of the bullpen in the league. In 2017, Miller recorded a 1.44 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and posted a 95/21 K/BB ratio in 62.2 innings.
If Miller returns to form, Cleveland’s bullpen will become a strength in the postseason. Paired with Cleveland’s acquisition of Brad Hand and Adam Cimber, Miller will join Cody Allen to provide for excellent weapons for manager Terry Francona to use at any moment.
After being this team’s biggest weakness throughout much of the season, the bullpen should now become a major strength.
