News is coming in heavy from the Buffalo Bills’ camp on this here Monday. Fresh off the team announcing that rookie quarterback Josh Allen would start its all-important third preseason game this week, other quarterback news is making its rounds.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, free agent signing A.J. McCarron did not suffer a hairline fracture of the collarbone in Buffalo’s game against the Cleveland Browns last week.
Tests have revealed that Bills QB AJ McCarron did not suffer a fracture in his collarbone, per a source.

McCarron had been the primary competition to Allen for the starting job heading into Week 1. Initially thought to have suffered a fracture collarbone, early indications were that the former Alabama standout would miss at least two months.
It is interesting that this information would come out mere minutes after Buffalo named Allen its starter for this week. Normally, those who get run with the first team in the third preseason game end up starting Week 1.
As it relates to McCarron, there’s no other information available regarding his availability for the final two exhibition games, but he is reportedly set to return to practice here soon.
