Zach LaVine remains with Bulls, who match Sacramento’s offer

The Chicago Bulls have matched the four-year, $80 million offer sheet the Sacramento Kings agreed to with Zach LaVine, which keeps the young guard in Chicago.

Shams Charania reported this development on Sunday.

Many Bulls fans might be wondering why it had to come to this for Chicago to retain the still young (23) athletic marvel. LaVine, who became famous a few years back for his outstanding work in the Dunk Contest, is a promising young star who, when healthy, has produced at a high level in the NBA since his rookie season, four years ago.

Last season, though he played just 24 games, LaVine averaged 16.7 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.0 assists for the Bulls. Prior to going down to injury the year before, he was averaging a career-best 18.9 points per outing.
