We’ve grown used to seeing Max Scherzer strike hitters out, even in historical fashion. Even still, he got Sandy Leon to K in an unusual way.
The Washington Nationals ace took a hack at a pitch from Scherzer that literally ended up between the legs of the Boston Red Sox catcher.

Well, we can safely say one thing. Leon didn’t read that pitch all that well coming out of Scherzer’s hand. But Leon can take solace in one thing. Even if we can’t remember ever seeing that before, he’s far from the only hitter that Scherzer has sent packing.
