Stephen Strasburg scheduled to visit neurologist, no timetable for return

Just as it appeared hope might be returning in what has been a disastrous season for the Washington Nationals, it was all lost again on Thursday.

Washington placed starting pitcher Stephen Strasburg on the 10-day disabled list due to a pinched never in his neck. Now the 30-year-old is headed to see a specialist and without a timetable for a return.

The right-handed pitcher just recently came off the disabled list after missing more than a month with inflammation in his throwing shoulder. In his lone start back, Strasburg struggled with six runs allowed in 4.2 innings.

Things just seem to be getting worse for Washington and it could soon force the front office to change direction.

As Washington draws closer to the bottom of the N.L. Central than the top, don’t be surprised if they become sellers before the trade deadline.
