Rob Gronkowski ‘refreshed’ and ‘super excited’ about 2018 season

Rob Gronkowski

Rob Gronkowski seriously contemplated retiring from the game of football during the 2018 offseason.

It’s not all that surprising, really. He’s battled injuries throughout his career, and then a concussion threatened to keep him out of Super Bowl LII.

After having a few months to recover from his latest campaign, however, Gronk says he’s feeling supercharged and “super excited” for another go-round with his New England Patriots in 2018.

I am refreshed,” Gronkowski said, via NBC Sports Boston. “You know after the season, long seasons, how your body can feel and everything. I just wanted to see where I was at, and see how I can get my body feeling, see if I can handle it, endure it again, and I feel like I’m super ready, man.”

The Patriots will be counting on Gronkowski big time to open the season, with Julian Edelman having his four-game suspension upheld following an appeal.

When healthy, Gronk is one of the most dangerous playmakers the league has to offer. Last year, he caught 69 passes for 1,084 yards and eight touchdowns, and he’s hauled in 76 touchdowns in his illustrious career.
