Report: Yankees made ‘strong offer’ for Manny Machado

The Baltimore Orioles reportedly know what the New York Yankees are prepared to give for Manny Machado. Jon Heyman of Fancred Sports has reported that the Yankees have made a “strong offer” for the star shortstop.

With one of the best farm systems in the game and a slew of young talent on the Major League roster, New York certainly has the assets needed to make a good offer.

Baltimore has already reportedly turned down what seemed like a very fair offer from the Los Angeles Dodgers. Given that the Yankees are a division rival, we’d only assume that the Orioles would want even more in a deal with them.

In addition to New York and Los Angeles, the Milwaukee Brewers are said to be interested in Machado. The Philadelphia Phillies and Chicago Cubs, meanwhile, are both reportedly out.

Until the trade deadline comes (or until he is moved), expect to hear a lot of chatter around Machado.
