Ravens offensive coordinator: Lamar Jackson ‘way ahead of the curve’

It’s early in the process. But Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is impressing the right people at training camp.

Marty Mornhinweg was asked about Jackson. Baltimore’s offensive coordinator gave a glowing review of the rookie signal caller.

“He’s getting better every day. There will be a time when he takes a step back to kinda take two steps forward, and all that. … But he’s done an outstanding job up to date. He’s way ahead of the curve, now. This guy’s a hard, hard worker. Tough minded guy.”

From what we’ve seen from Jackson thus far, we can’t really say we’re surprised. The one step back, two steps forward philosophy is about as good as a coach can hope for from a rookie.

This is certainly something for the Ravens and their fans to be upbeat about as we get closer to the season. It should also put incumbent starter Joe Flacco on notice.
