Eric Decker reportedly worked out for the Patriots

The New England Patriots are already entering the season short at wide receiver following the four-game suspension of Julian Edelman.

To make matters even more difficult, the likes of Jordan Matthews, Malcolm Mitchell and Kenny Britt have dealt with various injury during the early part of camp.

Now, according to ESPN’s Field Yates, New England worked out veteran free agent Eric Decker on Monday.

Decker, 31, has not seen much interest in his services since he hit the open market back in March. He put up 54 receptions for 563 yards with the Tennessee Titans last season. The veteran had tallied three 1,000-yard campaigns from 2012-15.

He would certainly fit well with what Tom Brady and Co. like to do on offense.
