WATCH: LeBron gets standing ovation after potentially final game with Cavs

It just wasn’t going to happen for LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2018 NBA Finals. Heading into Friday’s Game 4 outing against the Golden State Warriors, it was clear the Cavs would come up short.

That’s exactly what happened. Facing a 0-3 series deficit, Cleveland lost at home by the score of 108-85. The game was never really close. LeBron himself seemed out of gas.

As James departed the game late in the fourth quarter, fans inside Quickens Loans Arena in Cleveland gave him a standing ovation.

This was potentially James’ final game in a Cavaliers uniform. He’s set to become a free agent next month and speculation is that the all-time great will look to catch on with another team. If so, this will be the final scene of James’ historical career with his original Cavaliers squad.

James re-joined the Cavaliers four years ago with a promise to bring a championship to the city of Cleveland for the first time in north of a half decade. He made good on that promise by bringing the Cavaliers their first ever title back in 2016.

Unfortunately, four Eastern Conference championships during this span only netted one title for the James-led Cavaliers.
