On Tuesday, Egypt scored a goal against Russia. Only, the ball went into Egypt’s net. It’s becoming quite the norm, as this one marked an unbelievable fifth own goal in the early goings of this World Cup.
Take a look at this Greek tragedy-esque beauty.
Own goal strikes again! … This time by Fathi. Russia takes the lead. #RUSEGY pic.twitter.com/gd5udXP8i1

Twitter reacted accordingly.
Well, that's probably the sloppiest goal you'll see all World Cup.
Mishit shot + mishit clearance + deflection = own goal. Russia goes one-nil up.#RUSEGY #WorldCup pic.twitter.com/lPvAn9qfRS

Egypt’s goalkeeper should’ve caught that initial shot at goal from Russia. No reason to punch it away. There was hardly any pressure on him. He had two defenders by his side. Simple mistake messed up everything!
