Report: Police investigating strangulation/suffocation as COD in case of body found at Janoris Jenkins’ home

Janoris Jenkins

On Tuesday, stunning news broke that police were investigating a dead body found in New York Giants cornerback Janoris Jenkins’ home.

At the time of the initial report, there were no solid details to share other than the fact that the person found was a male, and that Jenkins himself has been in Florida since minicamp closed, though he is aware of the investigation.

“The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Fair Lawn Police Department are investigating a death at 14 Van Saun Place in Fair Lawn,” Acting Prosecutor Dennis Calo said via NewJersey.com. “The deceased is not the owner of the residence, but the identity of the male decedent cannot be released until next of kin have been notified.

Now some new information has emerged, as Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports “police are investigating a possible strangulation/suffocation as the cause of death in the case of the body found at Giants CB Janoris Jenkins’ home.”

The body of the deceased was initially discovered by a worker at the home, TMZ reported earlier on Tuesday.

Other information has been shared by Dianna Russini of ESPN that does nothing to clear anything up.

Police are not disclosing the identification of the man who was found dead at this time and will not until next of kin can be notified.

The Giants have issued a statement in which they said they are aware of the situation and are monitoring it.
