John Harbaugh reiterates Ravens will feature Lamar Jackson in 2018

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson

The Baltimore Ravens aren’t going to wait for the Joe Flacco era to end before beginning the Lamar Jackson, based on comments made by head coach John Harbaugh.

Harbaugh has been talking up Jackson since his first days with the club and made it clear that the Ravens are working overtime to figure out ways to utilize this special player.

On Tuesday, the head coach once again reiterated that plan, telling reporters he expects Jackson to be active on game days, and not just to hold a clipboard on the sideline.

“Gosh, I sure like him out there helping us,” Harbaugh said, per ESPN’s Jamison Hensley. “If you put two quarterbacks on the field at once, what options does it create for our offense? That’s what we’re trying to figure out.”

Hensley also noted that Jackson has been lining up all over the field during Ravens practices this offseason.

Baltimore has every intention of utilizing Jackson as a quarterback going forward, but while Flacco remains under center he can certainly help the team in other ways, given his rare athletic gifts.

It’s going to be fascinating to see just how much of an impact Jackson makes for the Ravens as a rookie in 2018.
