A day after the Cleveland Cavaliers drafted point guard Collin Sexton, general manager Koby Altman made comments that now cast doubt about a potential return of LeBron James.
During an interview with the media, Altman told reporters that the organization is shifting to more of a focus on player development.

It’s a surprising quote given the team is still trying to land Charlotte Bobcats point guard Kemba Walker. Sexton and Walker play the same position, so it’s hard to see how a team could focus on Sexton’s development and trade assets for Walker.
Ultimately, Altman’s comments seem to indicate a shift in focus for the franchise. James is expected to use his opt-out clause and explore his options. Yet, it was reported previously that James would prefer to stay with the Cavaliers.
If this is indeed the route Cleveland is going, perhaps they could have some idea of what decision James will make. If that’s the case, Altman’s comments seem to indicates James time with the Cavaliers is over.
