Twitter reacts to Celtics’ thrilling Game 5 win over Philly

The Philadelphia 76ers simply would not go away. Down three games to none against the Boston Celtics, they gritted their teeth and hammered out a win in Game 4 at home. Then on Wednesday night in Boston for Game 5, they nearly did it again in front of the pro-Celtics crowd, with Drew Bledsoe on hand, falling by the slimmest of margins, 114-112.

Time and time again the Sixers showed uncommon resilience. They were down by double-digits for extended periods of time but continued to fight back.

The Celtics continued to answer with big shots of their own.

Joel Embiid had a chance to tie the game with around 10 seconds left but simply could not put the ball in the basket.

Though, after the Celtics went up by four points, JJ Redick answered with an incredibly clutch three-pointer to pull the Sixers to within one point.

But when it came down to it, the Celtics simply had too much firepower late in the game and the Sixers couldn’t convert at the buzzer.

The heroes for Philly include Dario Saric, who went for 27 points, 10 rebounds and four assists, and of course Joel Embiid, who had a double-double with 27 points and 12 rebounds.

The heroes for Boston include rookie phenom Jayson Tatum, who had some jaw-dropping moments in this game, and second-year stud Jaylen Brown, who scored 24 points and was red hot from the field.

Twitter had some great reactions to Wednesday night’s tremendous effort.
