Two years after selecting him in the second round, the New York Jets traded quarterback Christian Hackenberg to the Oakland Raiders for a conditional seventh rounder. Despite being selected so early, Hackenberg couldn’t even manage to play one snap for the Jets.
Twitter had a lot of fun with the trade.
The Jets spent a second round pick on Christian Hackenberg in 2016 and he failed to play a single snap. Impressive. pic.twitter.com/lZuTNRmskr

Say what you want about Christian Hackenberg, but he never threw a single interception during his time with the Jets.

Christian Hackenberg? Oh my gosh, Raiders, did you learn nothing from the 2016 season? Even Matt McGloin looks good compared to him after Carr's Christmas Eve injury against the Colts.

last night I had a Raiders chat with my Dad.
Dad: Gruden is so smart from years of talking to coaches
Me: He has shown nothing to suggest he improved all these years awayToday we traded for Christian Hackenberg. I rest my case.

Jon Gruden trading for Christian Hackenberg … it's too perfect for words

Imagine drafting Kolton Miller and P.J. Hall in the Top 60 and then trading for Christian Hackenberg.

So….Christian Hackenberg got drafted, got $2.2 million guaranteed, got to wear the green, and now is headed to Las Vegas? Didn't know Hackenberg was my hero…but he might be. @NBCSBoston

My entire life has been building toward writing a preseason Christian Hackenberg Raiders game recap.

All we can say is, good luck to all parties involved.
